Tom and Mikala: Wedding Photography, Baltimore

So remember Mikala and Tom? Well they tied the knot! Below are a few of my favorite moments...

Captured by April E of aePhotography

One of the most beautiful churches I've been in
I love capturing what others see

The reception hall proved to be a fun challenge! Flashing strobe lights and snowflakes projected on the walls kept me on my toes in terms of the lighting, but allowed some of the coolest lighting and color effects.

They had their own paparazzi :)

Don't forget to check out a few of the other highlights here. Congratulations Mikala and Tom!

Boudoir Weekend 2- Boudoir Photography, Baltimore, MD

So while I post a belated set of pics from my second Boudoir Weekend, just a couple of other fun things!

1. Thank you to ALL of the ladies that participated :) And especially to the few brave ones that are allowing me to post pictures. (There are quite a few more, but I'm waiting on permissions, so check back:)) You guys were sassy, creative and amazing in general. We had a great time at the Element and I think captured some pretty sweet shots. There were quite a few very lucky guys this Valentine's Day.

2. Missed out on Boudoir Weekend? Don't forget you can schedule your own photography party. Check out www.kcophotosite.com for details (session information can be found under the "services" tab on the main site).

3. Yes, there is a new blog coming. Its definitely been a labor of love. I'm hoping after the holiday weekend, I may actually be able to make the official transition. So please keep checking back.

4. Starting April 1, there will be a little change in my pricing and services. To take advantage of the current prices, book and pay for your session now (by the way, your session can be anytime, this year!)

5. Check me out on facebook as well as here, as there are always super specials being offered on this page or the other. And take a moment to "like" me AND if you really want to make me happy "share" my page with friends :)

Happy Valentine's Day

So, we've been busy here :) I'm getting ready to post a few of my favorite photos from Boudoir Weekend II and want to wish all of my followers and fans a Happy Valentine's Day and share this picture of my son below. It reads..."Dear Mom, You are special to me because you are intelligent and focused and motivated. From Joey". I have no idea where the kid gets that stuff, all I know is that this Valentine's day is the greatest of all time.

Deb, Jacob, Sophie & Bekah: Family/Lifestyle Photography, Annapolis, MD

I love the perfect, unperfect family photo.

You learn a lot when you walk through the doors of someone’s home -- you're basically taking an intimate peak at their lives – what they do and who they are. I am beyond ecstatic to shoot Deb’s wedding later this year, however I was absolutely honored to have been welcomed into their home to have the opportunity to capture a few moments with her family.

When I arrived, I was instantly at home when I walked through their door -- cluttered with kids’ schoolwork, art projects, and her work, it looked almost exactly like my house. Comfortable, lived in, and a reflection of everything they do...

Some of Deb's work. I absolutely love the colors and detail.
Deb is a local artist who does incredible work with paint and ceramic and she is a mom to three unbelievably beautiful and talented children...
Meet Jacob who is not only an amazing artist and a budding photographer, but a fantastic musician in making as well.

This is Sophie whose favorite part of school is recess and she is a sports superstar (she won her most recent basketball game – Go Sophie!)

And Bekah who introduced me to her tree house and showed me some of her own art.
 Oh don't forget Harley...

I absolutely love when sessions like this come along and I cannot wait until my next lifestyle session. (Btw, check out the girls' treehouse and a few other favorites on our facebook page)

Boudoir Weekend! - Boudoir Photography, Baltimore, MD

Ok, so you are probably wondering, hey where are the photos from that super sexy Boudoir weekend? Well...I've been sworn to absolute secrecy as these sessions were dedicated to a few lucky sweethearts. So they will be blogged about in a later post. Instead enjoy this less exciting pose one of my clients insisted was sexy, haha. We did, indeed, have way too much fun!

Hey! 2 announcements...

There are only 3 slots left in the Boudoir Weekend. So c'mon ladies and join us for a fun! Check out out my earlier post for FAQs. Or just give me a call with any questions, sessions may be split into 30min slots @$30 if you want to bring a friend!

AND...while I'm hammering out the details of my newly designed blog, read about one of the fun features I'll have....

I love, love, love the 365 Projects that many of my fellow photographers put together and I’ve been dying to do one too…but I just don’t have the discipline to get it done and the same thing goes for the abbreviated 52 weeks version. So I decided to come up with something a little different. Every month I’m going to feature a local artist (writer, painter, singer) or entrepreneur. I’ll photograph them, conduct a mini interview, write a little blurb and post it on my blog -- giving me a much, much needed outlet for my creativity and a really cool opportunity to flex my photojournalism skills.

Now the nerdy business side of me sees the marketing potential for both of us while the geeky artist in me sees an opportunity to work with people and places that I wouldn’t normally get the opportunity to shoot. After all, aside from being an artist, I’m a lover of local entrepreneurship.  Everyone and anyone who has attempted to venture out on their own knows that it’s no easy feat – especially in this economy. And while there is absolute beauty in running your own successful business there’s a whole lot of W.T.F’ing  and O.M.G.'ing that goes along with those blood, sweat and tears.

So with all that said...in just a few short days, check back as I'm going *finally* to be able to welcome to my new feature...

12 Months…Viewing the world through someone else’s lens.

(so check back really, really soon, ok!)
